Jhanananda spells it out:

If you follow the Noble Eightfold path and you experience bliss, joy and/or ecstasy from the practice of meditation, then you have found samadhi. This means you are an Ecstatic Buddhist.

If you find pleasure and joy from the practice of meditation, then you have found the first jhana. This means you are an Ecstatic Buddhist.

If you find your mind becomes still during the practice of meditation, then you found the second jhana. This means you are an Ecstatic Buddhist.

If you find a deep level of tranquility in which you feel that your sense of self has vanished and/or you feel like an empty conduit of powerful sensations during the practice of meditation, then you found the third jhana. This means you are an Ecstatic Buddhist.

If you find the practice of meditation leads to freedom from stress, discomfort and anxiety, and you feel as if you could sit in meditation forever, and an hour or more passes as if it were only minutes, then you have found the fourth jhana. This means you are an Ecstatic Buddhist.

If you regularly experience out-of-body experiences as a product of the practice of meditation, then you have found the fifth samadhi. This means you are an Ecstatic Buddhist.

If you regularly experience out-of-body experiences as a product of the practice of meditation, and you have traveled out-of-body into space, where you have seen the infinite expanse of stars, then you have found the sixth samadhi. This means you are an Ecstatic Buddhist.

If you regularly experience out-of-body experiences as a product of the practice of meditation, and you have traveled out-of-body into space, where you have seen the infinite expanse of stars, and you find yourself in a domain that is free of evil, then you have found the seventh samadhi. This means you are an Ecstatic Buddhist.

If you regularly experience out-of-body experiences as a product of the practice of meditation, and you have traveled out-of-body into space, where you have merged with the infinite expanse of stars, then you have found the eighth samadhi. This means you are an Ecstatic Buddhist.

If through traversing the previous Samadhi states you find you are now free of the taints of neuroses, and you are unattached in the world, then you have found nirodha. This means you are an Ecstatic Buddhist.
